How this Online Drum School / YouTube Drum School works - My Plan or 2021

The Drum DPA channel has 3 major topics that I produce videos for. The first is for intermediate and advanced drummers, where I create short licks that include rudiments like double stroke roll, 6 stroke roll, flams, paradiddles, drags and so on. I want these so called hybrid rudiments to be a fun and melodic way for you to practice, to improve and to develop your own ideas. The 2nd big topic is the newest and is dedicated to drum beginners. Here I plan on going from the beginning of my book all the way to the end of it. Which also means, that it will become more and more difficult over time. Each chapter will have it´s own playlist , where I will at first show you some exercises , which then will lead to a Solo that I will play for you as well and then there will be Play Alongs videos for you to practice and to improve your speed. The third big topic is about drilling and about slowly improving your speed. So this topic is dedicated to both beginners and advanced s...

Rumba Clave for Practice Pad - Fun Melodic Snare Drum Exercise

Image
Hello Drummers! The last drum lesson was for beginners students. This practice pad exercise is for intermediate and advanced drum students. It´s about the famous Rumba Clave. To be exact, it´s the Rumba Clave 3:2. This very common Latin Feel Groove is mostly played by percussionists, played with cow bell, claves and all kinds of other percussion instruments. We as drummers of course can use that as well, not only for snare or practice pad, but for the whole set, too. The Play Along goes from 50 to 120 bpm. It really makes sense to start at 50 and pay attention to the hand technique before it gets faster.
